THE PARKER PEN COMPANY

Established in 1888 in the USA, the Parker Pen Company has an illustrious history, spanning 125 years, for prestigious quality writing instruments lauded for pioneering innovation, unique design, and exquisite craftsmanship. Now a pen brand famous worldwide, Parker Pens are renowned for not only their quality but also their affordability. Parker Pens are popular with consumers around the globe but they also make perfect corporate gifts; from the Sonnet fountain pen with its choice of nibs, to the best-selling IM Parker Pen, or if you prefer the writing tradition, look no further than the Parker Duofold based on the Duofold designed in 1921. Parker Pens can be branded with your corporate logo either by printing or engraving.

PARKER HERITAGE

Named after its founder, George Safford Parker, The Parker Pen Company was founded in 1888 after Parker grew increasingly frustrated with the quality of the pens he was selling. He developed his own design, patenting his first Parker Fountain Pen in 1889. The main problem with fountain pens of the time was that they leaked and were unreliable and Parker developed and patented the Lucky Curve feed system which was a major breakthrough and propelled Parker Pens to national prominence. Over the next few decades, Parker Pens became known as the “world’s most dependable pen”, from Parker’s Art Nouveau inspired Snake Pen in 1906 (now valuable collectors’ items) to the hardy and practical Trench Pen in 1914 designed for soldiers at the front-line and utilising ingenious dry ink tablets that activated with water. In 1921, capturing the spirit of the Roaring Twenties, Parker launched their now iconic Duofold pen, emphasising Parker Pens reliability with an unprecedented 25 year guarantee, and it is still in production to this day. But it’s not only in pen design and innovation that Parker excels, in 1931 The Parker Pen Company launches Quink; the world’s first pen-cleaning ink the dries quickly on the paper and dispenses with the need for a blotter (anyone remember those)? Other notable additions to the Parker Pen range were the Vacumatic introduced in 1933 holding more than twice the ink compared to other pens of the time and the first pen to feature the now famous arrow clip designed by Joseph Platt, and the personal favourite of HM Queen Elizabeth, the 51, which was launched in 1941 and featured an aerodynamic inspired futuristic design winning the Academy Award for Best Design becoming one of the best loved pens of the 20th Century. The introduction of the Ballpoint Pen during the 40s revolutionised the pen industry but Parker Pen waited until they had perfected their technology so that they could preserve their reputation for reliability and quality. In 1954 Parker Pens introduced the Parker Jotter which is still available today. Parker Pens feature in some of the 20th Centuries key moments with the World War 2 surrender by the Germans signed with a Parker 51 by General Dwight D. Eisenhower, and General Douglas MacArthur borrowing his wife’s Duofold to sign the Japanese surrender. 1962 saw the Parker Pen Company awarded the Royal Warrant as the exclusive provider of writing instruments to the Royal Household with another awarded in 1990 from HRH the Prince of Wales. US President Ronald Regan and Soviet Premier Mikhail Gorbachev sign the Intermediate Nuclear Arms Treaty with unique sterling silver custom-made Parker Pens.

DESIGN & QUALITY

The Parker Pen Company is rightly famous for the design and quality of its writing instruments but there is more than meets the eye going on behind the scenes to bring you one of the world’s most famous - and favourite – pens. Equal attention is paid to the engineering of the pen as well as the ergonomics and aesthetics; after all we want our pens to not only write beautifully but also look beautiful. Each stage of manufacture is closely monitored and quality control is second to none in the industry; from skin contact tests to climatic conditions, not to mention the build quality of each and every Parker Pen, which is why it is considered one of the most reliable pens on the market today. Indeed, many of the specific manufacturing processes have been pioneered and developed by Parker themselves; from the nib technology to the electroplated finish.

PROMOTIONAL PENS & CORPORATE GIFTS

It’s often difficult to find the perfect company gift or promotional product that will suit everyone. But promotional pens and corporate writing instruments are one of the most popular and reliable business gifts you can choose. From affordable ballpoint pens to sterling silver executive gifts, the promotional pen can cater for all budgets and is appropriate in all circumstances. Promotional branding can be printed, engraved and even embossed on the box. The Parker Pen is probably the most popular and enduring corporate gifting pen brand combining affordability with style and design which is the perfect combination for an executive gift.
